Banard Slays the Beast
Yet I didn't get the dagger...

…Walking in the room right behind the Paladin, Banard sees her; A girl wearing a black gown, dark as night, with wings extending out of the back. He sees her poor the blood dripping from her palm into the pool on the other side of the room. But this was obviously no ordinary pool, the black, thick boiling pool of… of who knows what! As these thoughts scramble through Banard’s mind, he sees hands stick out of the pool… and out crawl four pale creatures of Hell, literally.
Minutes later, finally sticking the last Sin-Spawn in the face, the adventures go wide-eyed as the 22’ venomous spider crawls down the side of the stairs to rid us of our lives. While the party is distracted, Banard sees something out the corner of his eye. Banard sees her, the winged woman in the sky casting spells down on us to help the spider in it’s quest of destruction! Banard takes it upon himself to rid the world of this winged thing and protect his friends, even if he’s ‘just the party healer’. He feels the lightning pulsing through his veins and his spiritual connection vibrating with energy from within, Banard lets out a raging arrow of electricity from his fingertips. The shock arrow explodes in the face of the flying women, then a grin appears on her face as she gracefully flings her dagger, aiming right at Banard. The dagger cuts through the air and hits it’s mark in Banard’s shoulder. The dagger vanishes from as he goes to take it out. Banard takes a deep breath and lets out 3 more explosive arrows of pure lightning nailing the beast every time.
Finally, 5 shoulder wounds later, all gushing blood, Banard starts to feel the pain. He releases his last bolt of lightning and collapses on the cold stone floor. He sits watching, as the bolt cuts through both wings, allowing the woman to plummet 25’ down and land with a bone breaking crunch. “That kill was mine…” Banard states pridefully. “So is that dagger.”
(That day ended extremely soul crushing as he rolled poorly and lost the magic dagger to the Halfling. Dang it, Halfling.)

The festival!

Banard has never seen a festival so amazing, colorful, loud, and exciting! He was having such a good time before the Goblins came. Now he’s having a great time! “I’ve never fought an army of Goblins before!” Banard exclaims excitedly. As Banard continues in his adventure with his brother and all these other strange folk, he realizes his place in the pack. He realizes his duty to help these people he now calls friends. Healing them, helping them. The incident in the glass works was terrible. Yet memorable; “I’ve never fought Goblins in the glassworks before!”

Grawd begins
Grawd begins his adventure to find himself

Grawd walked beside his companion through the Tick forest still wondering where the name came from. The forest was mature and full of life, although there seemed aura of hesitancy. Just a pause of the Robin before moving to ground. Just a bit quick scuttle to a tree by the squirrels. This was confirmed by the misgivings Grawd received through their bond.

Bastone was a young bear that was orphaned and brought up by Thurgin. Being orphans was one thing they had in common. But their bond went even deeper through Grawd choice to follow the ways of the Druid and bond with Bastone. They were family.

The smells of town were growing stronger. Grawd bid Bastone to stay close and alert. Bears, even cubs, can unsettle a small town like Sandpoint.

Grawd crested the last rise in the woods and strode through the main town gate. Grawd noted that while walled and minimally manned the town was obviously lacking any concept of imminent threat. Grawd reminded himself to confirm that assumption before letting his guard down. Until then his staff and axe shall stay close and ready.

The town was in state of almost riotous celebration. The Festival of Feats was a tradition and source of acclaim for the town. Many heroes of the past have started their public path to fame at the Festival of Feats.

The Festival of Feats is a test of all aspects of an individual’s raw abilities. Strength, intelligence, wisdom and more. Winning and losing is always revealing of where you are blessed with advantages and where you will have to deal with weaknesses. This was what drew Thurgin to the festival. To begin to find out who he is.

The Race of Feats
The Race

Today is the big day and the central square is full of people, both spectators and contestants. With a couple of mins left before 9 bells, the race registrar takes his seat behind the table. As the last of the nine bells rings, he stands and calls for all racers to approach the table to register. The citizen’s of Sandpoint watch from all around the square, excited to see their friends and family participate in the Race of Feats, and excited to see the strangers that have come to town for the festival.

  1. The sailor; a half-elf crew member from one of the boats in the harbor.
  2. The guard; a female dwarf guard travelling from a far away kingdom.
  3. The brother; a gnomeish traveller accompanying his brother.
  4. The tailor; a gnomeish traveller with an unusual hat.
  5. The orphan; a dwarf dressed as an elven druid.
  6. The secret adventurer; a halfling out on an errand, but looking for more.
  7. The beautiful elf; a well dressed sophisticated elf.

A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.
